Diving opens the door to another world underwater. This is a small glimpse of what it's like to shore dive here on Oahu at Kahe Point Beach Park. The water is a bright, beautiful turquoise blue because much of the bottom is sand with patches of reef. The SCUBA divers include me and four of my long-time White Tako Tong dive club buddies (Jim, Karen, Jenny and Nikki). We're just silhouettes fading in and out to represent the short time we are able to visit. The sea creatures are the stars of the show. We always see big schools of goatfish, ta'ape and bannerfish, with back triggerfish hanging out above us near the surface. Numerous green sea turtles swim gracefully by us. If we're lucky we see spinner dolphins, eagle rays and white tip reef sharks. It's always a different experience, but it's always truly amazing!
