About the Design

A repeat design of the famous Chat Noir, or "The Black Cat" poster. This version includes

additional, hard to find, typography.

La Chat Noir was considered to be the first modern cabaret in Paris. It was widely successful and in its heyday it was a bustling nightclub that was part artist salon and part rowdy music and dance hall. From 1882 to 1895 the cabaret published a weekly magazine with the same name, whose cover and advertisements have now become the iconic artwork of the famous Art Nouveau artist It Théophile Steinlen. Versions of his 1890's posters are still sought after in both vintage and modern style. Message us for resizing requests.
