Intermediate to advance sewer. Need to understand a gusset. Also the ears are made by folding each one over, right sides together, then sew on one side. Turn back out and it will make it possible to have two separate ears, along with the gusset makes it so you have four legs too. By stuffing slowly and packing well it does stand up on it own . ;-) a cute fat pony and use yarn to put in mane, tail and forlock. For pad, I used elastic and sewed it between the sides so when you fold out it is there to put on horse. Have fun and if you have questions just shoot me a message. ;-).
