About the Design

A peaceful, meditative seamless design for home decor - one with wispy clouds and cloud swirls, plus

a slip of moon © Nancy Lee Moran

The repeat is 15 x 10 inches for fabric. The repeat is 24 x 16 inches for wallpaper. On July 24, 2023, I took a digital photo of a Nebraska sky over ripening cornfields and created a seamless repeat in Photoshop. On the evening of the photo, the moon was at 38% illumination on a moon chart for Lincoln, Nebraska - near my small town. A recent rain and the "corn sweat" combined to create a misty sky. "An acre of corn can add up to 4,000 gallons of water vapor to the atmosphere per day!" Corn sweat (evapotranspiration) is a mystery of farm country. Website weareiowa.com provides information. Corn pulls water from roots and releases moisture through leaves in the form of water vapor. In dry times, corn will reduce transpiration by rolling its leaves, to expose less surface area. When rain is plentiful, moisture evaporates off of leaves just like sweat evaporates off of human skin. While I enjoy walking on country roads, I usually stop in muggy-July until August brings dry heat. Otherwise, my clothing is damp and my face drips with sweat as soon as I begin walking, except on breezy days, when the moisture gets blown to other places. Designs by Nancy Lee Moran are available for licensing. Some designs are also available in other scales or colors on request. I hope you will show me the projects you create with my fabrics. It would be such a joy to see them.
