My goal was to make something traditional with a simple modern edge. Using any extra fabric, you can also cut an oval out to use as a base, fill the bottom of the ornament with rice, and use this as a stocking holder or centerpiece! A couple more friends found HERE (http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/810687)! use 1/4" seam allowance ♥ Cut about 1/8” beyond outside line (so your stiching line will beapprox 1/8”-1/4” away from deer outline). ♥ Use approx. 5” of matching ribbon and fold it in half so it forms a loop. Place open ends at top of ornament matching seam allowance line. ♥ Place pattern pieces together, right sides facing (ribbon loop should be sandwiched in the middle). ♥ Sew around outside edge, leaving a small opening at the bottom. ♥ Clip seam allowance at curves making sure not to cut your stitching. ♥ Turn right side out, using your finger to smooth out seams ♥ Stuff with your favorite stuffing (good way to recycle your plastic bags!) and hand sew opening closed.
