Eva Mameli Calvino (Sassari, February 12, 1886 - San Remo, March 31, 1978), Italian botanist and scientist, she obtained her first degree in Mathematics in 1905 and the second one in Natural Sciences in 1907. She was the first Italian woman who obtained a University Chair. She wrote several books on botany. In her efforts to protect birds, she has been considered the "first and only woman" of the movement for the preservation of wildlife between the two World Wars.
