after Catteau. © Su Schaefer 2014
Art Deco gazelles galloping through an Art Deco landscape on a pale blue background. © Su Schaefer 2014 My inspiration for this design was French Art Deco ceramicist Charles Catteau (1880-1966), who used the gazelle often as a motif in his work. Since starting these designs I've noticed gazelles in many local Art Deco era buildings. (Gazelles are not native here.) See my other gazelle designs.
