This design is the rhombus derived from regular hexagon grid, equilateral triangle grid or semi-regular grid of hexagons and equilateral triangles. In this 3-way colouring scheme, the underlying symmetry is partially preserved (some triads and mirrors) but the unit cell size is tripled. Currently displaying a version in the red subset of the Synergy group's #2 apple and #9 movie palettes.
