50% smaller than my Regular Picnic with Cthulhu, for more Cthulhu per square inch. For those who don't know, Toile de Jouy is a rather twee, sedate, antique-looking style of monochromatic printed fabric, often featuring pictures of idealized shepherds and shepherdesses having lovely picnics or frolicking in delightful pastoral scenes. For my first attempt at designing toile I decided to feature Cthulhu, who has not been depicted often enough in charming pastoral scenes. Admittedly the pastoral scene in this case consists of a small withered dead tree. But I only found out about the Toile contest the night before the submission deadline, so I was in bit of a rush. There were 68 designs in the toile contest, and some of them were really amazing... I have to admit that many were much better examples of the toile style than mine is, and I wasn't surprised that I didn't win. But I think you know which one Cthulhu would favor.
