A large scale purple, red, and muted rust tones abstract vertical stripe with girlie girl romantic hearts, flowers, wings, and things all through it. This is part of the series of drawings I did while looking at an 1890's catalog of pocket watch cases. The windblown flow of the petals and the extra swirlicues came from those. Exactly why watch cases were so feminine and romantic escapes me because pocket watches were mostly a male concern. (To be fair there were also hunting dogs, trains, and guns on watch cases). But most were very romantic sort of flowing themes. The 1890's was an artistically romantic era, I guess. Though a complete repeat of this design is about 8 inches, you will not see the whole thing on a swatch because it does not line up that way. I have given you the swatch mode as a default view so you can see the many background details. To see the repeat, you will have to view in fat quarter mode. (file L10e2, #1415848)
