Sorrel Abstraction collection.
This gorgeous blue is awesome for home decor applications like upholstery and table linens. It's awesome for quilting applique and for a new blouse or dress. I'd use it to make a shirt for my husband, who I think is very handsome in blue. In an article titled, "Surprising Research on the Color Blue" by Diane E. Dreher, she states: "After blue lights were installed at 71 Japanese train stations between 2000 and 2010, a data analysis revealed an 84% decrease in the number of suicides." That's a pretty strong statement in regard to the effect this color can have on the human psyche!! Have fun sewing! Mary Wykes aka maryyx October 15, 2023 NERDY DETAILS: When viewing this color in an Adobe PhotoShop digital color cube - I would give it a very high chroma value - which means that it has been mixed with only a tiny amount of a very light gray and is extremely close to being a pure color. I would also give it a very high value number for light/dark value. This simply means that it is a lightly saturated color. colorhexa.com refers to this color as a vivid blue. It states that "The hexadecimal color #0872ed has RGB values of R:8, G:114, B:237 and CMYK values of C:0.97, M:0.52, Y:0, K:0.07."
