I am in love with rustic colors, which can also be referred to as desaturated colors, colors with mid value chroma "scores." This simply means they are not pure hues. Rather, they have been mixed with a mid-gray - or they have been "grayed down" with the use of their complementary color. At this URL you can read all about the history, meaning, psychology and symbolism of violet: https://psychologycolor.com/violet/ - It " is often associated with creativity, imagination, and spirituality. . . . it is believed to have a relaxing effect on the mind and body. . . . . In ancient cultures, violet was often associated with royalty, power, and luxury . . . . In modern times, violet is often associated with spirituality, creativity, and intuition." Solids – So basic and so helpful! Use them for minimalist decorating – for curtains, table linens, bed linens, wallpaper etc. Use them for clothing: blouses, shirts, skirts, slacks, dresses etc. Pair them with coordinating designs. Use them as trim when creating clothing. Use them for quilting: am Amish style quilt that is made completely with solids, in combination with florals – polka dots – stripes = etc.! I have hundreds of solids in my shop, as well as textures, which are “almost solids.” They are divided into a number of collections, organized by color families. If you are on your computer, just go to my “Designed Collections” page and use the drop down menu. Type “solids” into that menu and it will pull up all of those collections for you. Here is the URL for my purple and violet solids and textures - in case this one isn't quite what you are looking for: https://www.spoonflower.com/collections/193455 Need a specific color pulled out of one of my designs? Just send me a message and I will be happy to do that for you. Thanks for stopping by my shop! Happy sewing! Mary Wykes – aka Maryyx October 2023 NERDY DETAILS: According to colorhexa.com: "The hexadecimal color #412d52 has RGB values of R:65, G:45, B:82 and CMYK values of C:0.21, M:0.45, Y:0, K:0.68." The site's color description for this hex code is "very dark desaturated violet." Looking at this color in an Adobe PhotoShop digital color square, I would give it a CHROMA rating of 4. This means that a fair amount of gray has been added to the pure hue. It is still recognizable as a purple/violet - but is not a pure hue. The color from which it is derived, an intense blue, is its HUE, i.e. its color family. I would give it a VALUE score of 4 - which means that it is quite dark.
