Much of my life has been spent around apple trees. My parents' property had once been an orchard, and several old trees still stood, stately and wizened, in various parts of the yard. I played in the apple blossoms as they fell from the trees in the spring, watched the green balls grow in the summer, chased deer away from the trees in the fall, made apple delicacies of all kinds with the fruit, and slid under the trees on the snowy hill in the winter. This Apple Blossom Collection was inspired by photos from those very trees. Some of the most beautiful blossoms are from a tree that grew up from the rootstock of one of the older trees - as it died, this one grew up to give us a totally different color fruit. Use this pattern for a touch of spring, a country kitchen, or wherever your imagination takes apple blossoms!
