The inspiration for this design came from a trip to Padre Island. As we strolled along the beach at night, numerous tiny ghost crabs scurried about in the moonlight. We discovered how to catch blue crabs using a chicken leg—caution is advised due to alligators' fondness for chicken legs as well! The diet of Kemp's ridley sea turtles heavily features the Calico box crab. The Sargassum swimming crab resides and navigates through the floating sargassum seaweed. This design incorporates sargassum seaweed as well as various mollusks, including the Atlantic bay scallop, Calico scallop, Florida sand dollar, Scotch bonnet, Florida spiny jewel box, Banded tulip, and the Common American sundial.
