simple botanical design.
This is the background for my "Freshwater Signal Crayfish" design. I thought it would work well with quilts to offer this alongside it's matching coordinate. Available in two colors, along with other designs that coordinate well in the "Freshwater Crayfish" Collection. Water Milfoil, or Myriophyllum spicatum and is a native of Asia, Europe, and North Africa. It was brought to the US in the 1940s and is now an invasive species in the Tahoe/Truckee. Signal crayfish, which are also an invasive species, use this plant as habitat and food. The other plant featured here is Horsetail, or Equisetum. It's always visually stunning to come upon on a hike. As a child, I used to love to pick them and pull the sections apart. They have a lightly sandpapery texture due to their high silica content.
