Louis_on_the_table Fabric bymyfourraccoons

I've brightened the colors, sharpened the details, and boosted the temperature on this picture of Louis. Louis, as in Louis XIV, was the runt of the litter of 4 babies we rescued after their mother abandoned her den. We bottle fed them until they were weaned. Our German shepard, Zeeva, helped to raise them, cleaning them after each feeding and letting them curl up in her fur for naps. After they reached about 6 months old, they wanted to be outside. We saw less and less of them, but Louis came back twice after he'd been injured. We nursed him back to health, let him sleep in the bed with us, then let him come and go as he pleased. He learned to open the sliding door, let himself in, ate a meal at the dog's dish, visited us, then left the way he came. He and I would eat Cheetos on the front porch--he'd tackle me for that Cheetos bag when he'd hear it rattle. It's been several weeks since he's been back. Printing his likeness on fabric, making quilts from it, helps me continue to enjoy his presence.
