During turtle nesting season the turtles make their nests on the beach and lay their eggs. The hatchlings search for the moonlight on the horizon to lead them back to the ocean. It's important during hatchling season to keep lights off at night along the cost so the baby turtles do not get confused and can find their way back to the ocean by following the moonlight.
