This design is a tessellation of ivy leaves in symmetry group p4gm in cell-centred orientation. In the past, the winter festival period was all about bringing evergreen foliage into the home to ward off evil spirits and encourage the new spring to come whilst also eating up any food which would otherwise go off in storage. Currently displaying a variegated version (destroying the mirror lines but leaving the tetrads and diads intact) in shades of green.
