Whimsical Watercolor Cityscapes. © Su Schaefer 2017
'The Great Australian' refers to a 1960 book by Australian architect Robin Boyd, called The Australian Ugliness - which gives you some idea of his thoughts on the Australian 'aesthetic' in architecture in the suburbs. I have to say nothing much has changed there, in the great Australian 'burbs (although my European in-laws love the external pipes - so handy for the plumber!). The brief suggested: “Throw down for your home town”... which shows how language differs because in Australia that would be an invitation to a two up game. I used a couple of views from my locale as inspiration. One was the view from my bed as I mended after my ladder fall; the other was a place I could get to relatively easily in my brace and crutches. I became fond of those views: better than hospital! See more ‘watercolor’ designs by Su_G. (https://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/su_g?shop_selection=tag&tag=watercolor) See other designs by Su_G.
