transformed into swans by day, humans by night
The Wild Swans is a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale first published in 1838. It is a story about a princess who embarks on a journey to break a spell placed on her eleven brothers which has turned them into swans. The magic of this fairytale and the memorable images had such an impact on me as a child, the copy my mother gave me has remained on my bookshelf all these years! Thank you Mum for enriching my childhood imagination with this book.
