The design strikes me as quite symbolic of the earth, the sun and our relationship to the natural world. There is something about this design that affects me in a powerful way. It reminds me of the experiences I have had in which I felt closest to the earth, at one with my surroundings - like the time I was deep in one of the caverns of Mammoth Cave State Park in Kentucky. I was going through a narrow passage way and it struck me as strange, but compelling, that I felt so safe, so secure ;because normally I am very claustrophobic. This colorway makes me think of minerals and precious stones. If you prefer a different size, just ask! I will get it up ASAP. In this size I size I see the design used for upholstery, or an accent wall. In a smaller size I would use it for an Hawaiian shirt for my eldest son. He LIVES in Hawaiian shirts! For myself I would print it on satin and make a dress with simple lines, allowing the design itself to play a starring role. Origin: This is a mutant that evolved from my Zigzag Digital Batik series.
