About the Design

My great grandmother, a children's author, lived in our house in our house in the 50s. In her book 'The One Winged Dragon' she writes of the trillium that grow in the forest by the lake. I walk the same path that she did, and every spring I see the same patch of trillium blooming. 'There were pink and white trilliums in the woods pushing up their three-cornered flowers from the black earth and brown rubbish of winter past. Ruggles rushed here and there after pheasants and other enticing scents. Then they came to a grassy place on the shore where a few old apple trees were in bud and the boat lay keel up for the winter.' - The One Winged Dragon by Catherine Anthony Clark 1955
