This was designed for the typewriter contest. All I could think of was all the typing exercises I did when I learnt to type. And that got me thinking about "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog". And that lead me to look at other pangrams (sentences that include all letters of the alphabet). And when I went looking for some more, most of them included how many letters they had in the description, which kind of then lends itself to ordering them in size, and lo and behold you have a pattern...
This is also available over on RedBubble (http://www.redbubble.com/people/greennote/works/9289030-pangrams) as cards or prints.
And, as they're a bit hard to read, here are the actual pangrams...
Bright vixens jump; dozy fowl quack
Waltz, nymph, for quick jigs vex Bud
The five boxing wizards jump quickly
Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Woven silk pyjamas exchanged for blue quartz
Who packed five dozen old quart jars in my box?
A large fawn jumped quickly over white zinc boxes
My faxed joke won a pager in the cable TV quiz show
Grumpy wizards make a toxic brew for the jovial queen
Sixty zips were quickly picked from the woven jute bag
All questions asked by five watch experts amazed the judges.
Have a pick: twenty six letters — no forcing a jumbled quiz
Back in my quaint garden jaunty zinnias vie with flaunting phlox
The job requires extra pluck and zeal from every young wage earner
While making deep excavations we found some quaint bronze jewellery
Every good cow, fox, squirrel, and zebra likes to jump over happy dogs
The July sun caused a fragment of black pine wax to ooze on the velvet quilt
The public was amazed to view the quickness and dexterity of the juggler
Six big juicy steaks sizzled in a pan as five workmen left the quarry
A quart jar of oil mixed with zinc oxide makes a very bright paint
Bored? Craving a pub quiz fix? Why, just come to the Royal Oak!
Back in June we delivered oxygen equipment of the same size
Few black taxis drive up major roads on quiet hazy nights
Five or six big jet planes zoomed quickly by the tower
Whenever the black fox jumped, the coy squirrel gazed
The vixen jumped quickly on her foe barking with zeal
By Jove, my quick study of lexicography won a prize
Brawny gods just flocked up to quiz and vex him
Amazingly few discotheques provide jukeboxes
Ex-TV folk buy prize John Quincy Adams’ wig
Sympathizing would fix Quaker objectives
Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz
Sphinx of black quartz, judge my vow
How quickly daft jumping zebras vex
Quick wafting zephyrs vex bold Jim
