’Hemp leaf pattern on soft black weave by Su_G' (https://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/5514509). Something Morticia (for fans of the Addams Family) might wear: Hemp leaf pattern on soft black weave, created by applying oil paint dots straight from the tube. © Su Schaefer 2016. (http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/su_g?shop_selection=tag&tag=asanoha) Pearls in a hemp leaf pattern on soft black weave, created by the application of dots of oil paint straight from the tube, and then manipulated. Printed beautifully on basic cotton ultra as shown in the 2nd thumbnail above (double click for a clearer view). Apparently in the old days in Japan there were master artisans who specialized in painting this design on fabric, which is probably why I wanted to try the same thing: it is very much harder than it looks. Asanoha mon (The Hemp Leaf Pattern) The mon of the Maru-ni-Asanoha family represents a stylized hemp leaf pattern. According to some, the plant symbolizes the power of growth (hemp being one of the most vigorous annual plants) and probably for this reason, the pattern is often used on babies' kimonos. See other designs by Su_G. (http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/su_g?sort=classic) Oil on paper, designed for a basic repeat. [Fabric: 230 ppi, Wallpaper: 150 ppi]
