This design is a series of stars subtended from the vertices of the semi-regular grid of dodecagons and equilateral triangles in the inverse order from their natural crossing form. This creates rhombus gaps between them rather than kites which can be decorated further - eg with central rhombus holes connecting radial and cirumferential lines to create a mosaic of flat gem shapes. Currently displaying a version in shades of grey.
