the Asian unicorn.
The enigmatic saola was only discovered recently in 1992 and is already critically endangered. These antelope like creatures feature long spindle like horns earning them the nickname of the Asian Unicorn, and have striking white markings on the face. They are found only in the Annamite Mountains of Vietnam and Laos, and their numbers are estimated to only be in the few hundreds.
An international working group has been working to protect the endangered saola since its discovery. They are focusing on strengthening and establishing protected areas, research, community based forest management, capacity building and strengthening law enforcement.
This design features the ferns which make up the saola's diet in their home in the moist rainforests of the Annamite Mountains.
